What we are assessing

We do not expect you to solve every question. Almost no one finishes them all, and that is by design. We are far more interested in how you reason than in how many you get right. A thoughtful approach to a hard problem tells us more than a lucky guess.

Tools like ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude will not help you here. The questions are designed so that there simply is not enough time to copy them out, prompt a model and transcribe an answer. Your own clear thinking is what counts.

How your answers are graded

So you know exactly what counts before you begin. Each question is graded on two parts, and they do not carry equal weight:

The explanation you write for each answer is the larger part of your grade. Clear, sound thinking is what we are really looking for.

Whether the option you choose is correct counts too, but on its own it is the lighter half of the score.

  • Guessing earns nothing. A blind guess with no explanation gains you almost nothing. A few questions answered thoughtfully, with your reasoning, count for far more than many rushed ones.

How the test works

  • You cannot go back. Questions are shown one at a time. Once you confirm an answer and move on, that answer is final and the previous question is gone. Choose deliberately.
  • The clock does not stop. You have 60 minutes total. The timer runs on our server. It keeps running if you close or reload the page, and the test submits automatically when it reaches zero.
  • One attempt only. This invitation works exactly once. The assessment cannot be restarted or retaken.

Test conditions & monitoring

To keep the assessment fair for every candidate, this is a monitored exercise:

  • Fullscreen & focus. The test runs in fullscreen. Leaving fullscreen or switching to another tab or window is detected and logged with a timestamp.
  • Copy, paste & right-click are disabled. You will not be able to copy the questions out or paste answers in.
  • Session is identified. Your attempt is tied to your name, email, IP address and device.
